Description The F80 Gunraid, a mass-produced prototype mobile suit from the Formula Project by SNRI, joins the MG lineup with all-new molding. Featuring a wide array of weapons and mission pack compatibility. The F80 Gunraid was developed under SNRI’s Formula project to mass-produce the F90 Gundam F90 for the Earth Federation Forces’ RGM-X project. To simplify production, it removed experimental features like micro-honeycomb armor and the holo-cube computer but retained the F90’s 11 hardpoints. It also used the F70 Cannon Gundam’s movable frame and standardized components, ensuring compatibility with EFF mobile suits like the RGM-109 Heavygun and F71 G Cannon. This allowed the F80 to maintain solid performance and use F90 mission packs or the F70’s backpack when needed. Despite its strengths, the F80 had drawbacks. Cost-cutting measures reduced mobility, slowed reaction time, and increased weight compared to the F90. The lack of a holo-cube computer made field mission pack swaps impractical, as system reconfiguration was required. Although intended for mass production, it was more expensive to build than Anaheim’s RGM-119X Proto Jamesgun and RGM-111 Hardygun. Due to these issues, only 16 units were produced, mostly assigned to ECOAS, the EFF Marine Corps, and private military contractors.
